Masterpeace is a jewelry and accessories brand, founded by moscow based Evgenia Linovich. Inspired by the richness of ancient russian fine arts and crafts, each collection is an avant-garde reinvention of its nation's noble heritage, preserving 100% of its eccentricity. Linovich favors Russian materials when creating her hand crafted accessories, including wild Russian amber, malachite, alexandrite, and black spinel. The Fall 2014 collection was filled with malachite’s special green and was inspired by Leo Tolstoy’s infamous “War and Peace”—with facets of 18th century war uniforms channeled and revamped in the most glamorous and hypnotic manner. “It is extremely important to support the traditional artisans,” says Linovich, “if we do not support them, their art will die.” Masterpeace, though highly luxurious and fitting for a Tzarina’s wardrobe, has a conscience and a clear social endeavor. “My social role is to give work to artisans in rural areas, and to bring young people into this ancient profession,” states the designer. By creating more work for these artists and teaching ancient practices to the younger generation, Linovich hopes that old techniques will be utilized to create something modern. We love the fact that this vision resonates so closely to the core values that Cmpltunknwn is founded upon.
